SEX w/ Annie, Let's Talk about Sex!

How was i supposed to know..

So for a few months now I have posted a few things to see how this whole thing works. I waited and waited and started to think that something was wrong with my post. So I decided to check the settings and sure enough there it was. I was not set up so that my blog was going out to the world. If someone wanted to see my blog they actually had to put the URL into the search engine. I can't believe I know what a URL is.

So I posted a few more blogs, nothing to racy or erotic, I thought I would ease into the kinky stuff later. And still I had two followers. hahaha.. All I can do is laugh. It's not easy being an indie and trying to learn all these new websites. As it is we had to give up totally on wordpress because we couldn't figure out how to write a blog without having to pay for it. And then even when my husband got fed up and took out the debit card we still couldn't write a blog.

I told him not to worry that I was posting all kinds of things on my Facebook page and that would have to do. Little did I know that I already had an easy place to set up a blog. I stumbled on BlogSpot one day while trying to post some pictures to my Google+ account. And to my surprise I set the entire page up myself. But then no one was seeing the blog I waited so long for. I had no idea that it wasn't going out to the world. Again I was looking for a way to post some photo's to my blog and I hit the settings and sure enough there was something that said no and needed to say yes. Once I changed that I saw that my blog was in with the other new blog post for the day.

This learn as you go stuff is for the birds, or the young people. Hell I didn't even know how to use a computer till I was already in my late thirties. We had electric typewriters in school. That was it. And I don't have kids to show me anything.

I did however get a crash course from my sisters before they got married and moved away. But that was years ago. So trying to set up blogs and webpages has got my brain on overdrive. Then to find out that the blog post have just been sitting there like a dark secret waiting for someone to stumble and I mean stumble upon them. I can't help but laugh.

How does anyone do this kind of stuff day in and day out. I need to get to Florida and retire soon or my brain is going to be mush. It's five o'clock and already dark. The days are moving so fast and my poor blog has just now started to get seen.

Then I go back into the setting again because the first time I tried to post a picture I was taken in another direction. sure enough it's happening again. Costume REDIRECT, what the hell is costume redirect. Yes it says costume, not custom, All I want to know is; Can everyone still see my blog that was hidden for months. You just can't make this shit up.

So while waiting for my re-direct to update I thought I would let you know what has been going on in my life with my blog. Half way though this post I see a flash at the top of the page. My redirect could not be saved. hahahah.., Maybe if I actually understood what or why I needed to put a redirect in that box then I  could have figured it out.

One day I am actually going to get a picture posted. I am first going to check and see if my blog is still going out to the world or if its been put back in the closet waiting for me to find the setting that says yes instead of no my blogs can be shared..I hope someone is actually seeing this.  annie

LOL I had to laugh because I was the same - I had a blog set up on wordpress (free I never paid anything) but didn't realise you had to put in tags for people to find your posts. I'm still learning too but I agree it is really hard work trying to be seen by the world - well done - you got there in the end!

  4. We were all that way and anyone who is honest will tell you that this is a journey and not an arrival.
Look at it like this: You can't lose with Indie Authoring; because each day you are learning something new.
    I wish you the best...
